Maximizing a stock market investment

          There are several factors an investor in the stock market should consider for a maximum return on an investment:

          1. All stock purchases should be commission-free.

          2. All stocks purchased should be from a company that has a history of raising their dividends every year.

          3. The company should not only have a history of raising their dividend every year, but should also show price appreciation in the market place, on a year to year basis.

          4. All dividends from the companies should be rolled-over into more shares of the company, until retirement. This should be done by the company, for the shareholder, commission-free.

          5. The companies purchased should have staggered dividend pay-out dates so the income from 12 companies will provide the shareholder cash dividend income every week of the year. No more than 12 companies should be owned, otherwise, you?e probably spreading your money too thin.

          6. A systematic approach of dollar-cost averaging should be done on a quarterly basis. A savings plan should be adopted to add to your holdings every quarter, along with the dividend reinvestment.

          7. Stocks purchased should pay a dividend yield of at least 2.0% or better. A low 2.0% dividend yield isn't necessarily bad because it means the company in question is using most of their profits too expand. In other words, it's a growth stock with business, profits and earnings growing. A growth stock makes up for the lower dividend yield because their stock prices will more than likely rise faster.

          8. The company should have been in business at least eight years,showing dividend increases each year. This will eliminate the risk involved in putting money into a risky new start up company(the kind that is going to change the world - they are just too hard to find).

          9. The company must have a stock dividend reinvestment plan (DRIP). If the dividend paid by the company is $2.63 for the quarter, all of that $2.63 will purchase a further percentage of shares (partial shares) and this should be done automatically for you by the company or their Transfer Agent.

          10. The companies you purchase should be purchased with the intent of realizing ever-increasing cash dividends for you and your family for the rest of your lives.

          Have you ever noticed how some words in the English language are so perfectly named for what they describe? And how some words seem to be, I guess you could say backwards? For instance, the word sunflower! How wonderfully aptly named is the sunflower, that beautiful yellow flower that follows the sun from sunrise to sunset. And then there are those words in the English language where there meaning appears to be backward, so to speak - like parkway and driveway. When my car is parked at home, I would think it would be parked on, well, a parkway - and when I? on the road driving somewhere, I would think I? be driving on a - a driveway.

          In the stock market world, I think the word analyst is a perfect word in the English language and stockbroker sounds right to me, too. And this leads me to what I call the ?rainwashing mantras?of Wall Street.

          The brainwashing mantras of Wall Street may take the form of a number, such as a stock rating of 1, 2, 3 etc. Or the mantras may be a star,moncler, 1 star, 2 stars etc. The mantras may be a word or a group of words- attractive, unattractive, neutral, market perform, market out-perform, market under-perform, market under-weight, market equal weight, market over-weight, sector perform, strong buy, buy, sell, strong sell.

          These mantras are so ingrained in Wall Street and investor? minds that they have created multi-billion dollar industries. There are other types of mantras, such as RSI (relative strength index - a trading volume indicator), Bollinger Bands (named after its creator John Bollinger (he use to be a regular on CNBC) and the bands deal with the channels a stock trades in, in relation to its ?oving average? another mantra), Stochastics (used to tell if a stock is 75 % overbought - too many people have been buying) or 25% oversold (too many people have been selling), Momentum, MACD (Moving Average Convergence/Divergence ?rice of the stock, up or down, in relation to its moving average), 50 day, 200 day moving averages, triple bottoms and tops, pendants, flags, bear and bull markets, head and shoulders formations, double bottoms, P/E ratios etc, etc, etc.

          All these mantras serve a purpose (and if you?e inclined to trade in the market they are, I admit, useful tools). They create commissions.

          And in my opinion, have no meaning what-so-ever for the long-term, dollar-cost averaging, buying investor of company? shares, free of commission charges, whose companies raise their dividend every year, with the investor? idea or purpose being to provide an 85% tax-free income, through ever-increasing dividends for the rest of their lives, no matter what the price of the stock at any given time in the market place may be.

          I still remember what it feels like. You're all excited about your new product, and you can't wait to pitch it to someone. But no-one will give you the time of day. You make 30 calls to try to get an appointment, or you say "Hi" to dozens of customers as they come through the door, and not a single one of them want to hear what you have to say.

          Let's take a closer look at 'First Contact.' For some of us it means working the phone, trying to make an appointment to see a decision maker. For others it means engaging a walk-in customer in a showroom or other brick-and-mortar location. Regardless of where your first contact takes place, you have to keep in mind a few very important points:

          The customer is concerned with only one thing

          The customer has no idea who you are

          The customer WILL say "NO" before they say "YES."

          Scary list. You're thinking, "No wonder it seems impossible to sell sometimes." It's not impossible; it just requires that you follow a formula that will give you a better chance of success.

          For starters, let's tackle the first point:

          The customer is concerned with only one thing

          I have said this before, in many different ways, but what I mean is this: When it comes right down to it, the customer is too busy listening to Radio Station WII FM, the station with one program, called: "What's in it for me?" Since this is the case, you have a very short amount of time to communicate value to the customer. Let me highlight this with an example. In this one, we'll use a car dealership (but it could be appliances, furniture, tractors, a real estate open house... you get the idea).

          A guy walks into your showroom, and starts peeking into the window of the cars. The classic approach would be to greet him with a smile and ask him if he needs any help. But he shrugs you off, and peers closer into one of the car windows. As a persistent pro, you tell him about the new satellite GPS feature that now comes standard. He looks mildly impressed, mostly to amuse you, but he's bored now; so he's on the way out. What went wrong? And what could be done differently?

          Let's start again from the beginning. He walks in, and starts kicking tires. You, the Sales Superhero, do a quick scan of your customer. Mid 30's, male, alone. That's about all the data you need to continue. He leans in closer to the window of one of the cars, and you take action. "Hi I'm Joe. You've got to see this. It's like the Bat-Mobile! Have you ever seen one of these?" You open the passenger door,doudoune moncler pas cher, and invite him to sit in the driver's side, and then you start your fancy GPS system demo.

          This is just an example, and a risky one at that. But there is immeasurable value in making that initial contact. It gets you one step closer to establishing a RELATIONSHIP, which as I have said time and time again, is one of the four essential ingredients to any sale.

          The customer has no idea who you are

          If the example were to continue, you would continue to ask questions about what he's looking for, and for when, and for how much. But that's a discussion for another day. The important thing is that you communicated excitement to the customer, and inferred that he would be as fascinated as you were with the new feature. If your little scheme worked, you will have engaged him.

          The customer WILL say "NO" before they say "YES."

          In this example (which I am now officially beating to death) the worst that could happen is that the customer turns down your invitation to sit down. If he doesn't do it on his own, ask him what he came in looking for. Before you know it, you're in a conversation with the customer about what matters to him. This statement, 'The customer will always say NO' also refers to objections, a topic we have covered here before, and will surely return to.

          A word or two about appointment setting:

          Not all Salespeople have the luxury of walk-in traffic. They have to book an appointment on the phone to make a sales presentation. When you are doing this, concentrate on your goal: To book the appointment. Not to sell the product, but to book the appointment.

          First you've got to be sure you are speaking directly with the decision maker, and as always you have to concentrate on What's In It For Them. If you're having a challenge getting past a gatekeeper, let them know about the benefits that you can bring to the decision maker. "I have something that she has to see. It could save her a lot of money. Does she have more time earlier in the week or towards the end?" - just as an example. Remember, you are only appointment setting, not selling... so just concentrate on setting the appointment.You will surely have your own unique approach to making first contact, and it will undoubtedly change depending on who your customer is. (If it doesn't, it certainly SHOULD) In fact, I would love to hear your suggestions. Email me, and tell me what works in YOUR industry. What are your best lines?

          The key is to focus on what the customer wants. What problem do they need solved? What do they desire? What are they really buying? In the case of our car guy, he might be buying an easier commute to work, or a status symbol to impress his friends. Perhaps he's buying security for a soon-to-be growing family. He is most certainly NOT buying two tons worth of steel with leather seats and air conditioning.

          Let's look at CNET Networks Inc. The company trades in the NASDAQ market with symbol: CNET. What does CNET do? I know CNET owns cnet.com. But do you know that it also owns download.com, MP3.com, ZDnet.com and News.com ? How do I know that? Yep, you guess it. CNET's Annual Report will gives you all that.

          From CNET's annual report, we can do a little digging for CNET's internet traffic. As of August 27th 2005, these websites of CNET attracts 3 % of all internet traffic. Pretty impressive, considering that Google holds 23% of all internet traffic. On April 2005, Google had 78.6 million unique visitors. By comparing this metric, we might have an idea CNET's revenue potential for the month of August. I will not go into that but this shows how useful reading CNET's annual report is. Reading an annual report serves as the first step towards investing in a particular company.

          How do we obtain annual report? There are several sources for this. First is the companies own website. You are interested in knowing more about CNET Networks?           Or ... you can go to some websites that offer complete annual report for a number of different companies in alphabetical order. Our website is one of them. 年四十始为郡吏。汉安帝初年,官至济北相。他是汉代名书法家,尤善草书,师法杜度,时称“崔杜”。后来张芝取法崔、杜,其书大进,成为汉代草书之集大成者,被誉为“草圣”。对于崔瑗的草书,后世评价很高。“草圣”张芝自云“上比崔杜不足”。三国时魏人韦诞称其“书体甚浓,结字工巧”,即书体非常浓密,结字精致美妙。南朝梁袁昂《古今书评》云:“崔子玉书如危峰阻日,孤松一枝,有绝望之意。”意谓其书势如“危峰阻日,弧松一枝”之奇险也。他写有一篇《草书势》可说是他作书实践的经验总结。   这是流传至今的我国历史上最早的一篇书法论文,而且是论草书的。书法是一种线条艺术,草书于此尤具代表性。因此,这篇文章也就弥足珍贵。文章在讲了书法的起源之后,重点讲了草书的产生,指出由于“官事荒芜”, 出现了比大小篆简略的“隶书”;而“草书之法,盖又简略,应时谕指,用于卒迫,兼功并用,爱日省力”。这就说明,草书是由于政事繁忙,为适应书写简易快速的需要而产生的。这是符合实际的。任何一种艺术,起初都是为了实用,后来才出于审美的需要,逐渐使之完善成熟。汉代草书在实用中提高技艺,成为一种独具特色的书法艺术,终于得到了社会的承认。   崔瑗《草书势》的重要意义,还在于它记录了他对草书艺术的审美感受,把草书作为供人欣赏的美的艺术。文中提出一个重要美学命题:“观其法象”。法象,本指人的合乎礼仪规范的仪表举止,借用到草书直观上,则指其合乎法度而又独具特色的艺术形象。因此,“观其法象”,就是观赏草书的艺术形象。而且文中具体生动地描绘了这一点。一则说,“抑左扬右,望之若欹”,意在讲草书结体不同于篆隶的对称平稳。一则说,“兽跛鸟踌,志在飞移;狡兔暴骇,将奔未驰”,强调草书的动态美。书法本是空间艺术,是静止的,这里的鸟兽想要“飞移”;狡兔突然受惊将要“奔驰”,给人强烈的时间艺术的动态感。一则又说,“或蜘蛛点蝻,状似连珠,绝而不离”,指出草书的下点,如“燕”、“然”下面四点,笔势也有它自身的特色。一则还说,“若山蜂施毒,看隙缘�;腾蛇赴穴,头没尾垂”,点出草书笔画的曲折、回旋、流畅。这些都是草书的特殊处。它较之汉代的正书篆、隶来,线条更流畅,更自由,更具活力,更富意态。那笔势“畜怒怫郁”,纵放出来,就会产生出奇异的情景。然则崔瑗在肯定了草书的这些特征之后,又指出草书的自由不是随意的。文中一方面写到“方不中矩, 圆不中规”,指出草书打破了篆隶要求对称平稳的限制;另一方面又写到“就而察之,一画不可移”,表明草书是有自己的法度的,有着“一画不可移”的规则和规律性。这种对自由与规律、合目的性与合规律性的高度统一的要求,是我国先秦美学就具有了的一条重要原则。崔瑗对草书艺术的审美感受,再次体现了这一点。笔法分析  崔瑗的草书师于杜度,笔划精微,善于变化,象金子经过百炼,如美玉丽姿天成,
